Who's That ?

In addition to my post regarding the "hammer" on the 14th of February, another incident happened some 2 hours later.

Later that day I was in the main bedroom sorting out an issue with my media player, and in walked my gf's grandson, he came and sat to my left as I was sat on the floor in front of my media unit. He asked what I was doing, and I explained that I had an issue with my media players internet connection and was just fixing it. He pointed at the screen asking what some of the icons were, to which I answered and explained what each one did.

He then looked at the mirror he was sat opposite and pointed at himself and said "that's #####" (his name), I said yes that's you, he repeated this a couple of times, and I answered it a few more times. He then pointed at my reflection and said that's you, and again I said "yes that is me", then he pointed a little further over and said "and who's that", at this point I was filled with a chill and said "that was me silly" he answered saying "your silly as that's not you".

Now all of these things read like a cliché, and I've very aware of that, but living them is even harder than I thought.

Hammer To Fall

Well it really has been a few months since I last posted on my blog, and that's not down to it being quiet here, it's just life is busy is general which is a good thing. But I thought I would just bring my blog up to date with a few events that happened over the weekend just past.

So Sunday the 14th of February is valentines day, but the day is also shared with my gf's sister in laws birthday, and an invitation had been made for her and some of her family to come here and have an evening meal with us.

The day was set and after returning home from a local town (where I treated my gf to a nice breakfast out), she collected her grandson as he was also staying at ours for the day. Her grandson is now 3 3/4's in age, but rather ahead of his age group.

We played for some time with his toy cars etc, and settled down to watch Peter Pan an animation by Disney, mid way through the film the grandson got up and picked up a plastic child's ruler and put on this really strange voice much like Danny Torrance (The Shinning) and proceeded to hit the dog with it saying he wanted to drill the dog and cut it open, so me being me, I tried to divert his actions by saying if he had a drill or better still a screw driver maybe he could give me a hand to fix somethings around the house. At this point his attention turned towards me, and he stuck the plastic ruler in my stomach and said he wanted to drill me open and then I would die, and which point he pretended to fake his own death. But again I said "Come on let's go and fix things", and briefly he joined in, but shortly afterwards sat back down to watch the remainder of his film, and we chatted throughout about the characters etc

Well it wasn't long before the film finished, but my gf's grandson asked if he could watch the film again, to which I agreed and at this point I realized the remote control had disappeared, so I got down on all fours and crawled over to the cabinet to restart the DVD manually. In order to do this I had to skip through some advertisements for other films, both at the end of the film, and at the start of the film, and whilst doing so I was talking to my gf's grandson telling him about the clips and adverts I was skipping, and had he seen any of the films, to which he answered most of the questions.

At this point (some 90 seconds later) I became aware that either my dog had come over and sat beside me or someone had come and stood beside me. So I turn to my left and it was my gf's grandson, and at that very moment he raised his hand above his head and brought it down with some force and struck me straight between the eyes with a hammer. Now before you all think the worst, the hammer wasn't a metal one, but it was a strong solid plastic one from a child's toy set.

The impact was needless to say rather hard, and my head filled with a ringing sound (over my tinnitus), and all the time he was laughing, and myself not one to get angry I asked why had he done that as it wasn't funny, and had actually hurt. He continued to look at me and laugh, to which I said again that it wasn't funny and he had done something really wrong. At this point I placed my hand on my nose and the outside of my nose was covered in blood where it had split the skin above my nasal bone. I showed the blood on my hands and asked him if he knew what it was, to which he replied it was juice. I answered him by saying it wasn't juice, it was in fact my blood and it should stay inside my body, and what "he" had done was really wrong.

I then went into the kitchen to find my girlfriend busy, and explained to her what had happened, at which point she turned around and was shocked to see all the blood. I explained I was fine, and she went into the front room and spoke to her grandson explaining how wrong he was, and I must admit he came up to me and said sorry.

Now I'm not saying the "house" made him do it, or anything else along those lines, but given what happened later in the day, it just made me think.. As this wasn't the first time his actions have been questioned.

Afternoon Activity

Sunday just past (yesterday 29/11/15) was another normal day in this household, and it was the first Sunday in a while where I haven't taken my girlfriend out for breakfast. So both myself and my girlfriend were home pretty much all day. The weather wasn't that good, rain and dark as you would expect for late November, and the day was very relaxed.

Mid afternoon I was in the front room, and my girlfriend was in the kitchen as was the dog, when it seems the dog left the kitchen and stood in the adjoining dinning room and started to bark. Now at that very same moment my girlfriend said that the two kitchen towels that had been stood on top of the fridge for over a week both fell on the floor. It spooked her to some degree as she called me into the kitchen to look.

Now a rational thought would be that the fridge/freezer kicked in and it made them fall off, but our fridge isn't like that, and runs really smooth. Also the larder where the kitchen towels are located has no window, and due to the rain none of the doors or windows in the rest of the house were open. Also they were in fact stood on end, so couldn't of rolled off.

One thing I did notice again was that the temperature in the hallway had dropped rather a lot.

Return of the shadow

Well again it's been a while since I last posted on my blog about the occurrences here, but that's not to be interpenetrated as lack of activity, far from it, I just seem to be in a very busy period of my life. The most recent event was actually last night (18th November 2015), so I thought as I have a spare few minutes today I would share with you what took place.

It was around 8pm and I was in my computer room reading and researching online regarding some components for my car, I was on my own as my girlfriend was working, when I became aware or more of a feeling to be honest that just made me shiver a little, and as I turned to my left I could see on the wall in the hall way a dark oval shape about 5' 10", the only reason it really caught my eye was due to the fact that the shadow that normally rests on the wall is a straight vertical line, as it's a shadow cast from the 90 degree corner in my hall.

I immediately got up to go and step into the hallway to see if perhaps my girlfriend had come home early, but the hallway and the entire house was empty. Even my dog was resting undisturbed on my sofa, which made me think it must of been nothing, as surely he would of noticed something walking past his door.

The Finger

On the 31st of August my girlfriend and myself had invited some of her family around for a meal late in the afternoon. The guest list consisted of my girlfriends daughter (and her boyfriend), her son and his grandson (3 years old), my girlfriends sister in law, and her subsequent son.

So the afternoon had gone really well, and we were all in the dinning room eating and chatting to one another, the grandson was running up and down my hallway screaming and play with my dog. As the ceilings in my place are rather tall you get lots of echo in the hallway, hence why my girlfriends grandson loves making noises in there.

Well the time must of been around 21:40, maybe even a little later, and my dog had taking himself off to the bedroom to have a rest. I thought nothing unusual about this, and the fact that my girlfriends grandson continued to run around and enjoy himself. But a few moments later he wandered off into the main bedroom to find my dog. Very shortly afterwards he left the bedroom and returned to the dinning room (which sits at the end of the hallway) and slowly approached his dad, at which point he said to his dad "Daddy, an old man was stood in the room shouting at me, and he gave me the finger".

At this point most of the guests tried not to laugh as they only really heard him saying "he gave me the finger" but I heard everything and also watched his actions when he told his dad.

The grandson placed both his hands either side of his mouth to indicate someone shouting, but took his right hand away from his face and pointed it out in front of himself when he said "gave me the finger". The grandson at no point meant "The finger" as in flipping someone off.

My girlfriend heard it as did her sister in law, and her sister in law looked at me, as did my girlfriend, to which she said "Maybe it was the ghost". Her sister in law tried to have a side conversation with me about the house and events, but the other guests tried to "over-talk" our conversation and move it along. It was if people had realize what he meant, and just didn't want to talk about it.

It was only about 10-20 minuets later that everyone decided to make there way home, and left. At this point my girlfriend said to me that she was going to take the dog around the block for some fresh air, and assumed I was going to look for the man, although she knew nobody was in the house.

If I'm brutally honest I got 2/3rds of the way down my hallway, and as I started to approach the bedroom it really felt like a massive weight was around my shoulders, neck and in my head. It actually felt like someone or more than one person was stood right behind me shouting at me, and it made me feel so uncomfortable I just wouldn't turn around.

I still have no real reason as to why this happened, although I am 99% confident that niether of the childs parents would of primed him to say this, and his change in mood was monumental which indecated to me he was 100% sure that he had just been told off or shouted at by an old man.

Phone Call From Zero

On Friday night (28th August) my girlfriend and myself were in the front room watching some evening T.V. I'm not 100% sure of the exact time, but it was around 9:40pm. My girlfriend had the landline phone resting on the side of the chair she was sat in, and I was sat beside her in my own chair.

Well the adverts had just come on and the panel on the phone lite up and the phone display showed zero.  It wasn't an incoming call as the phone never rang, and when I checked with call back it quoted a time from much earlier in the day

Now I know this may sound really crazy, but even my girlfriend said that maybe it was the ghost, but I explained it as being a fault with the phone, but we both saw the phone do it, and both looked at each other.

Reflections

You know sometimes when I'm in the main bedroom alone I really do get this sense of someone actually being stood with me, and sometimes I've actually spoken thinking it was my girlfriend, only to turn around and find myself on my own. I suspect this could just be me again, as I do spend a large amount of my time on my own thinking, but again lately things seem to have been more active in this house.

Another thing I always find myself doing is trying to explain myself to myself, if that makes any sense at all. What I'm trying to say is that I always look around what I am seeing or what I feel, and try to offer myself a real explanation, although sometimes it's just randomly crazy things that I cannot explain. Take yesterday morning (Sunday), I was alone in the bedroom, just tidying up, and it felt like my girlfriend had entered the room, and again when I turned around the room was empty. Yet oddly I keep being drawn to the huge mirror in the room, I know this sounds odd, but it just doesn't feel right some days, and by this I just mean the reflection seems wrong for the room. It's either like the reflection is a little smudged, or the depth just seems wrong along with the brightness. In my mind I have often thought that maybe it's a two way mirror and behind it is a camera crew watching my daily routine, but as the wall it's mounted on backs onto my hallway and forms part of the chimney well I know this is not the case.

It's just uncomfortable some days, which is odd, as it's just furniture.
